Falls are often played for laughs at the movies, but in real life, a sudden fall can have serious health consequences, both immediately and over the long term. Broken bones, bumped heads, and bruising can be uncomfortable, expensive, and timely to treat. This risk is even worse for older folks who on average are slower to recover and experience more severe long term side effects of falls. If the fall in question happens on a business property, and there’s evidence that the business owner neglected to warn of or correct the conditions leading to the fall, the victim may have a premises liability case. But, what you do after a fall really matters.

Rusty Reynolds recently spoke with Christina Williams of WTVG 13 Action News in Toledo about what to do if you have a fall. They cover:

  • What is the first thing you should do in the event of a fall on a business property?
  • The most important information to collect after a fall.
  • The challenge of proving a premises liability case.
  • How you should document the fall: should you record or take photos?
  • And more…

Our thanks to Christina and the whole team at WTVG 13 for inviting Rusty on to discuss this important issue. Watch the full episode below. Rusty’s interview runs from timestamps 01:10 – 07:30.
